Pure ethyl alcohol is a non-denatured 200proof ethanol. Ethanol, a primary alcohol, is an important raw material for the synthesis of various compounds. It can be synthesized either from molasses by fermentation or by hydration of ethylene. It acts as a hydrogen source and reaction medium during the transfer hydrogenation of carbonyl compounds in the presence of sodium hydroxide. The impact of ethanol/water fumigation on the performance of diesel engines has been studied. ACS grade solvent can be used for processes requiring strict quality conditions such as analytical testing.

Application

Pure ethyl alcohol (Ethanol) has been used in the following processes:
  • Preparation of AMBF3 (ammoniomethyltrifluoroborate)-conjugated biomolecules.
  • As an absorbing liquid for the determination of Grüneisen parameter by photoacoustic measurement in an integrating sphere system.
  • Solid-phase microextraction (SPME) on-fiber derivatization analysis of resveratrol extracted from red wine.
