    1-Propanol is a volatile compound with a characteristic flavor, commonly found in alcoholic and fruit beverages. Its biosynthesis from glucose using Escherichia coli strain has been studied.

    Application

    1-Propanol may be used as an analytical reference standard for the quantification of the analyte in alcoholic beverages and Chrysophyllum albidum fruit using gas chromatography coupled to flame ionization detector and mass spectrometry technique.
