General description
Methanol is a polar solvent and feedstock to produce chemicals and fuel additives. It can be produced through the catalytic hydrogenation of CO2.
Application
Methanol can be used as a solvent in the:
- Palladium(II)-exchanged hydroxyapatite-catalyzed Suzuki–Miyaura cross-coupling reactions.
- Reductive amination of ketones with ammonia and dihydrogen to synthesize primary amines.
