General description
Bradykinin fragment 1-7 (BK-(1-7)), an endogenous peptide, is present in plasma.[1]
Application
Bradykinin Fragment 1-7 has been used as an external calibrant/standard in the matrix-assisted laser desorption ionization time-of-flight mass spectrometry (MALDI-TOF MS) analysis of protein spots.[2][3]
Bradykinin Fragment 1-7 is used in research on the specificity and kinetics of kininase(s).
Biochem/physiol Actions
Bradykinin (BK) is a pro-inflammatory mediator and a neuromediator. It modulates several vascular and renal functions. Bradykinin (BK) plays a key role in inducing vascular permeability and mitogenesis. It helps to activate the liberation of nitric oxide in inflammatory and cancer tissues.[4]
