Vinyl chloride is a colorless gas, which can serve as a monomer for the industrial production of poly(vinyl chloride)[3] homopolymer and copolymer[4]. It can also be used in the production of vinyl stearate, vinylidene chloride, tri- and tetra-chloroethylene.[4] It can be obtained via reaction of hydrochloric acid with acetylene derived from calcium carbide.[4]
Application
Refer to the product′s Certificate of Analysis for more information on a suitable instrument technique. Contact Technical Service for further support.
Vinyl chloride solution has been used as a certified reference material for the quantification of the analyte in air samples using thermal desorption gas chromatography mass spectrometry (TD-GC−MS).[5]
