Sodium hypochlorite solution was used in the synthesis of sodium 3,3′-bis(sulfonato)-4,4′-bis(acetamido)azobenzene.[1]
General description
Efficacy of 2.5% sodium hypochlorite (NaOCl) solution as endodontic irrigant has been tested. It was reported as comparatively more efficient antimicrobial agent than 0.2% chlorhexidine gluconate solution.[2] It has been proposed as tissue solvent. It has bactericidal properties. Effect of time and storage conditions on tissue-dissolving capacity of various concentrations of NaOCl have been evaluated.[3] NaOCl is commonly used for the removal of bloom-forming or biofouling organisms. It has been proposed as algicidal agent.[4]
