Application
Dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) has been used in the preparation of ethyl 4-[18F]fluorobenzoate.[1] It has been used in the culture medium for 3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyl-tetrazolium bromide (MTT) assay.[2]
Caution
Supercools easily and remelts slowly at room temperature. Solidified product can be re-liquified by warming to room temperature without detriment to the product.
