General description
Glucuronic acid is one of the component of xylan backbone, a hemicellulose present in plant cell wall.[4]
Application
D-Glucuronic acid has been used:
• in in vitro human digestion model[5]
• as a fibrous cellulose powder, to test the feeding preference among experimental termites[6]
• as a standard to quantify glucuronic acid in urine sample[7]
Packaging
10 mg in glass bottle
10, 25, 50, 100 g in poly bottle
Biochem/physiol Actions
In humans, glucuronic acid conjugation with steroidal compounds and drugs is an important step in phase II metabolic reactions. This influences the biotransformation process of the compound.
