Biochem/physiol Actions
Chloramphenicol is a natural product found in Streptomyces venezuelae.[4] It shows a broad range of antibiotic activity against Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacteria by binding to the peptidyl transferase loop of the ribosomal RNA to block the peptide bond formation.[5][6]
