Ascorbic acid (AA) is also know as vitamin C. It is present in plant tissues, helps in active growth and has has antioxidant property. It is easily oxidized in aqueous solutions and is favored by oxygen and by heavy metal ions.
Application
It was used as standard during the determination of ascorbic acid in lymphocytes using HPLC.
